comment posted by Terri Rogulski on 05-13-2010 That is great Kim, glad to see this, going GREEN in ALMONT with our hair we dont want any more. How great is that. Hope others all over get on board. comment posted by Kim Ruhlig on 05-11-2010 Just wanted to let Almont residents know that Oasis Hair Salon is so excited to be the first salon in Almont to start collecting all our hair trimmings and sending them to Matter of Trust Org. This organization will use the hair to make mats (like floor mats) and stuff it in old donated pantyhose to make booms to help soak up oil from oil spill, like in the gulf once it makes it to shore. And when there is not a crisis it will be used as fertilizer. It is a great GREEN way to use something we would just throw away and it is creating new jobs. Everyone can help by just getting their hair cut as they usually do. Does not need to be a certain length or anything ALL hair is used. Isn't this fantastic, in 23 years of being in the beauty business I knew there had to be a good use for all this hair! comment posted by Debra on 02-24-2010 For those who thru away your letter it has to do with voting whether you want one trash hauler for all of Almont Twp. But we don't know how much it will cost. So, tell us the cost and then let us vote. Contact them by e-mail pbowman@charterinternet.com or call 810-798-8521 ext 2005, or send them a note and don't forget name and address. : ) comment posted by Debra on 02-24-2010 Don't forget to read the letter that was sent with your assessment. My suggestion is TELL THEM TO BID OUT THE JOB -- THEN---ASK US TO VOTE --- IF WE WANT IT OR NOT. NOW THAT IS CHOICE! comment posted by Dennis Brown on 02-20-2010 If your looking for mnore income. Thanks Almont for your support!! comment posted by Debra Schumacher, Almont DDA on 09-02-2009 The DDA is proud to announce that Halo will be conducting seminars in Imlay City on October 7th and in Almont on October 8th. Businesses located in the Almont and Imlay City DDA Districts are welcome to attend BOTH seminars for FREE! It has been determined that each DDA business can bring one or two representatives per store front to each seminar. If you are interested in sending an additional representative please contact your DDA. This effort is being funded by the Almont and Imlay City Downtown Development Authorities. The Lapeer County Community Foundation is a Program Partner and a major contributor. We are asking that you register by the Early Bird date of Friday, September 11. This will guarantee you a seat. After the Early Bird registration date, tickets will be for sale to businesses or individuals outside of both DDA Districts. While DDA businesses can register after September 11, seats are not guaranteed. Not in the DDA? Both the Almont and Imlay City Chamber of Commerce are sponsors. Contact your local chamber of commerce office to see if they still have available seating. Your business must be a member of the chamber to be eligible for this program. If that is not an option, we still want you to come! The fee for one seminar is $20 per person OR you can come both nights for $30 per person. Anyone who plans on attending must submit a Registration Form! See DDA Website for Form. comment posted by Terri Rogulski on 06-21-2009 Hope you were able to make it out this Past Thursday for Music in the Park. We had a lot of fun and the weather was perfect. Keep up the good work! comment posted by Dennis Brown/Shaklee betterhealth2.com on 03-26-2009 My thought ! If we all buy from all the businesses in almont even if it is a little bite higher than other out of town businesses your saving cash from gas not used from your traveling to and fro. So lets keep the cash in Almont . comment posted by Kendra Duncan on 01-23-2009 My family and I drove through Almont several weekends last summer on the way to our family cottage. We LOVE the old homes along St. Clair St. and VanDkye. I have always wanted to own a Victortian or Historic Home. My husband and I would like to relocate in the next few years and Almont is of interest to us. How can I find out more about Almont? The village site is very nice but it doesn't give me the information I'm looking for. I'd like real, everyday information and comments about what it's like to live in Almont. I have two children, so schools, community events/organizations, etc. are important to my family. Please share your honest thoughts about the Village of Almont with me. I'd greatly appreciate it!!! Someday we could be neighbors:) comment posted by Terri Rogulski on 12-21-2008 Merry Christmas everyone. We all have something to be Thankful of, so this year lets look on the good instead of all the bad we have had to deal with. I am excited to start 2009. It is going to be a great year. Its really easy just print the application from this website under forms and that the form and your check and drop it off to Terri at 33 Mile and Van Dyke Century 21 or to Carol at Tri-County Bank or going to the Huddle for LUNCH drop it off to Joe. or call any Board Member. comment posted by The Mill & Brewhouse on 08-21-2008 Are you watching? Us restore our building to the year it was born-1843? Our Briggs Wool Carding Mill was built in 1843 and is a Michigan Registered Historic site. We are so fortunate to be able to carry on a 21st century enterprise in a 19th century building. Of course, we all know asphalt was not around in 1843, but we feel our customers will like it. comment posted by Terry Roach on 05-31-2008 are there any tennis leagues in or around Almont? comment posted by Dr. Jay Vanderest on 05-02-2008 Dr. Jay Vanderest has a bulletin board posted in the waiting room at the dental office promoting community events and business members of the Almont Area Chamber of Commerce. Please feel free to stop over at the dental office.
